BREAKING: COURT GAGS NBC! REGULATOR STOPPED FROM BULLYING BROADCASTERS!

Busybody Family, the "war" between the media and the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has reached a boiling point, and the courts have just handed a massive victory to our broadcasters! Here is the "gist" on why the NBC’s "Formal Notice" just got tossed out.
The Lagos High Court "Red Card" (May 4, 2026)
Just this Monday, Justice Daniel Osiagor of the Federal High Court in Lagos issued a heavy-hitting interim injunction against the NBC.

The "Gag" Provisions: The NBC is now legally barred from sanctioning presenters or stations for:
Expressing personal opinions as facts.
Allegedly bullying or intimidating guests.
Failing to maintain "neutrality" in news and political programs.
This case was brought by the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) and SERAP, who argued that the NBC’s rules were a "gag order" meant to stifle free speech before the 2027 elections.
Appeal Court Upholds "No Fines" Rule (April 2026)
This follows another landmark win where the Court of Appeal in Abuja upheld a ruling that the NBC lacks the power to fine broadcast stations.
The court held that only courts of law, not regulatory agencies, can impose criminal penalties like fines.
The court nullified the ₦500,000 fines previously slammed on 45 radio and TV stations back in 2019.
Is the NBC trying to protect us from "fake news," or are they just trying to hide the truth before 2027? 🧐
Should a presenter be allowed to have an "opinion" on air, or should they stay neutral like a referee?
The fight for press freedom is getting intense!
